What is The Bern Network?

The Bern Network on Financing Data for Development is an open, multi-stakeholder alliance that brings aid and development agencies, national statistical offices, ministries, private sector and civil society groups together to advance the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development by promoting more and better financing for development data.

It was established in 2019 by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and the Swiss Federal Statistical Office, together with partners, to catalyse change in the amount and quality of resources for data and statistics ahead of the United Nations World Data Forum in 2021 in Bern, Switzerland.

The Bern Network Secretariat is hosted by the Partnership in Statistics for Development in the 21st Century (PARIS21).
